Wake-up Ealing is a small group of Ealing neighbours who became aware in early 2019 of Heathrow’s plans for aircraft to overfly Ealing & Acton as they come in to land. We believe that the impact of this will ‘Wake up Ealing’ in the morning as never before. These flight path changes are due to come into effect from 2022 onwards and are likely to take place even without a third runway.
Talking to our friends, neighbours and colleagues, we’ve discovered that very few residents know of Heathrow’s plans and their impact on us. So, we’ve set about telling everybody.
Our overall objective is to stop any further flights over the borough of Ealing. To do this we aim to:
- make Ealing residents aware of the proposed Heathrow airspace changes
- motivate and co-ordinate action by local residents against the proposals
- educate and engage local politicians and influencers to fight the proposals
We are members of Ealing Against Noise Action Group (EANAG). We form EANAG’s campaigning arm against Heathrow expansion, and are funded by EANAG. EANAG was founded in 1976 and has been campaigning ever since to limit the disturbance and other environmental effects of Heathrow on Ealing residents. Find out further information about EANAG and its work by visiting their website here.
EANAG represents the interests of Ealing Borough residents by attending official committees and public enquiries and responding to public consultations. EANAG sits on the Heathrow Community Noise Forum (HCNF), is affiliated to the Local Authorities Aircraft Noise Council (LAANC) and backs the No 3rd Runway Coalition.
